Marketing and communications that move your mission forward.

Non-profits and charities answer to many people at once: the community they serve, donors, funders, members, volunteers and a board. We help you speak clearly to each of them, with a senior team that understands lean budgets and careful decisions.

Our work starts with your mission and your plan. From campaigns and annual reports to brand and member communications, we build around board approvals, funder requirements and the capacity of your staff, so the work gets finished and gets used.

Our Commitment to Non-profits

01
We start with your mission

Every plan begins with what you exist to do and who you serve.

02
We respect your budget

Clear scopes, fixed prices and no surprises for your board or your funders.

03
We plan around your board

Board and funder approvals are built into every timeline.

04
We build your team's skills

We share templates and training so your staff can carry the work forward.

HOW WE SUPPORT Non-Profits and Charities

Senior marketing and communications support for teams with a big mission and a small staff.

Strategy & Planning

We set direction with your leadership first. That includes marketing and communications plans, audience research and messaging your whole team can use.

Brand & Design

A name, look and voice that match the work you do. We design the identity, then the reports, event materials and digital pieces that carry it.

Campaigns & Launches

Fundraising, awareness and membership campaigns, from first idea to final report. We plan and run the campaign, including advertising, email and social media, on a timeline your board can approve.

COMMUNICATIONS

Keeping donors, members and funders informed and involved. We write and produce newsletters, annual and impact reports and announcements in plain language.

Workshops & Training

Practical skills for staff, boards and volunteers. We facilitate planning sessions and run training built around your own projects, so your team can keep the work going.

FEATURED WORK

PEFC Canada

PEFC Canada promotes sustainable forest management through independent forest certification. With a very small team, the organization needed a senior communications professional to lead both its visual direction and its messaging.

Much of the existing material was more technical than its readers needed. Bold Ink stepped in as communications lead, beginning with stakeholder mapping to identify who PEFC Canada needs to reach and what each group needs to hear. From there we built a content and communications strategy, set a consistent visual direction and rewrote key messages in plain language.

"(Lindsey) has a natural sense of what works visually and how to present information in a way that is both compelling and accessible. She was also incredibly responsive, collaborative, and easy to work with."

Chris Harvey, Executive Director

PEFC Canada

FEATURED WORK

H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is a non-profit science centre in Vancouver. Its executive director needed to focus on operations and wanted a senior marketing leader to oversee the marketing function.

Bold Ink founder Lindsey Turner joined as Fractional CMO, leading marketing and supporting the Space Centre's Marketing Manager. The work ranged from a new content strategy and a revamped website to day-to-day social media and copywriting, with the Bold Ink team delivering alongside the Space Centre's own staff. The executive director had her time back for operations, and the marketing team had senior direction and extra hands when it needed them.

Let's start with a conversation.

A short discovery call is all it takes. We'll listen first, then share where we would begin and whether we are the right team for the work.
